Yellow Plaid Dress

I adore Vivienne Westwood’s designs for their historical influences as well as the punk flair. When I found this grey and yellow plaid fabric, I wanted to make myself a Vivienne Westwood inspired dress. I used the off-the-shoulder Cotton Robe 109 pattern from Burda but for added drama I omitted the straps and went through multiple iterations of methods to keep this dress from falling off my shoulders. I went to a ball in this dress and whilst I was swirled around I realised that I hadn’t quite figured it out yet, as my dress kept on slipping lower and lower with every turn. In the end, I found that adding a hook and eye in the front was all it took for the dress to sit in place.
